Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has revealed one of the All Progressives Congress’, APC, deceptive winning strategies, in the last 2015 elections.
This was made known while responding to an inquiry from one of his followers on micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Atiku subtly revealed that APC Chieftains were asked during the 2015 general elections to post their food on social media, to prove that they were humble Politicians.
The Twitter user who is a United Stated-based Nigerian literary critic, Ikhide Ikheloa, had asked Atiku if he was drinking garri in an old photo posted by the former Vice President.
“No sir, it is cornflakes. The photo was taken in 2014, when it was compulsory to post our food on Twitter and Instagram”, Atiku wrote.
Atiku’s revelation brings to mind a viral picture in 2014, of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, drinking tea from milo sachets.

The picture was touted to mean Buhari and Osinbajo were humble people, and helped win some sections of the public to their side.
Atiku caused a stir in Nigeria’s political circles last week, when he resigned his membership from the APC.
“The party we put in place has failed, and continues to fail our people, especially our young people. How can we have a federal cabinet without even one single youth.
“A party that does not take the youth into account, is a dying party. The future belongs to young people”, the former Vice President said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
