The outspoken Senator representing
Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has on
Monday, threatened to tender his resignation letter, if anybody,
including Senate President, Bukola Saraki, compels him to do what is
wrong.
Shehu Sani issued out this threat on an
African Independent Television, AIT, Programme, tagged: ‘Focus Nigeria’,
which was monitored by US.
The
APC Senator, who is the current Chairman of the Senate Local and
Foreign Loans Committee, was reacting to the allegation by the Kaduna
State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, that he (Sani) was blocking the State
from getting about $350 million loans.
In a swift reaction however, Shehu Sani
said: “I am ready to resign, if anybody compels me to approve $350
million loans for El-Rufai. I can not approve a loan that will be used
in sponsoring herdsmen to be killing innocent people.”
He added: “I am ready to resign, if I am compelled to do so.”
