At the wake of the much awaited return
of President Muhammadu Buhari, from a 49-day medical vacation in the
United Kingdom, the All Progressives Congress, APC, says the 74-year-old
is back to fix the challenges facing Nigerians, despite his health
Recall, that Buhari upon his return on
Friday, had said that his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, would continue his role
as Acting President, while he continues with his rest.
Buhari suggested that he would soon be going back to the UK, for further medical check-up and treatment.
However in a reaction, the ruling party
APC in a statement on Friday, through its National Publicity Secretary,
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed belief that Buhari is now well rested
“and needs no further medical check-up.”
The party Spokesman, added that the
President has returned with new vigour and optimism to fix the
challenges facing the people, and fulfill the promises the APC made to
Nigerians during the 2015 elections.
The party further thanked the President
for following due process, and properly handing over to his Vice, Yemi
Osinbajo, thereby saving the country the needless controversies and
crisis that Nigeria experienced in the past.
“We thank Nigerians and all men and
women of goodwill, who have been praying for the health and safe return
of the President, and note that the government is fully committed to the
Party’s manifesto of Change, couched on true transformation in every
area of national life,” the party said.
